I'm new to this specialty and I've heard 2 different opinions in our office regarding coding diagnostic xrays when there is no diagnosis listed in the "impression".
Opinion 1. Code the symptoms or "reason for exam"
OR
Opinion 2. Code from the "findings".


I have found some older threads on this topic, but nothing recent.
I appreciate any help. Thanks.
