My co-worker was at the AAOS seminar this weekend and someone from a Radiology company had asked if we bill Analog or Digital because we could get more money for the xrays? I never heard of this, does anyone have any feedback regarding this. thank you

I guess im not understanding, if a patient comes in for an xray we are an orthopedic group and we use digital do we just used the regular xray code ex: 73564 (knee xray) but if we use analog we have to use an FX modifier?

If you use digital then you do not use the FX modifier and it pays the normal rate. Digital is 73564, Analog is 73564 FX. You don't get paid more for using digital, you get your reimbursement cut if you don't. Its CMS way of forcing providers to get rid of analog technology.
