Hello, can any one help me with scenario? I need to code for a pre-op v72.81 for a pacemaker change. Can i code for the reason the pacemaker was implanted along with the fiting and adjustment of the cardiac pacer and the pre-op code? ex. 780.2, V53.31, v72.81
 
When you code for a pre-op. Your first dx should be the pre-op code, then the reason for the surgery, then any additional problems that may complicate the patient's condition.
