Surgeon repaired lacerations in the wall of the rectum due to penetrating trauma.
My first thought is CPT 45562: exploration, repair and presacral drainage for rectal injury.
However, 45562 is an abdominal approach; the surgeon used an anal approach to reach the rectal lacerations.
Any suggestions other than 45999 (unlisted procedure, rectum)?
Thank you!
