My doctor is not sure if I coded this correctly, please help.
In addition to the incarcerated incisional hernia with 1.5hrs lysis (49566-22) he also did "mobilization of the rectus and imbrication of the fascia between the rectus musculature."
The body of the report reads - At this point we mobilized the rectus musculature and sheaths, both lateral aspects of the defect using sharp dissection, elevating flaps of subcutaneous tissue from the underlying rectus. Some attenuated areas of fascia were also utilized in our repair. The fascia was then imbricated closed in the lower abdomen and then in the mid portion of the defect fascial flaps were laid one over the other, securing them to the medial rectus sheath bilaterally with interrupted 0 prolene sutures.
we code for component seperation (15734) bilateral every so often but dr says this is different. I coded 14301 but he seems to think this may not be correct.
