What is your local practice for redacting of records prior to sending to an insurance company? Do you redact at all? If so, what is the source for guidelines that you use?
 
Can you clarify exactly what type of records you are sending to the insurance company that need redacting? Are you referring to remits that have multiple patients on them? Are you referring to medical records for a specific patient that you are submitting to the insurance company for a prior authorization or post-service claim submission?
