Can you use modifier 80 with cpt 19301?
 
You can (and should) use this modifier if it correctly reports the services that are documented. However, this CPT code has an assistant surgeon indicator of '0' on the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, which means that Medicare will require documentation to support the medical necessity of the assistant in order to make payment. Other payers may have different policies for this code.
