We are thinking about implementing a Remote Patient Monitoring service and I am looking for information. I was on CMS and found no written guidelines in their publications nor policies. Can anyone answer the below scenario?
Patient has an office visit. During the visit the patient is educated on setup, use, and benefits of CPAP machine (E0601). An order is placed for a CPAP machine and referred to a home care company. The home care company is going to supply the CPAP machine.
Can we bill out CPT 99453 if we are not supplying the CPAP machine?
