I need help with the above CPT. Dr. gave me unlisted 28899 but I was wandering if 28192 removal of foreign body, deep might work since it was removed from the joint. It is also described as a bony cartliaginous loose body.

A body cartilaginous loose body is not a foreign body, so 28192 would not be correct.

I'd have to see the operative report to recommend a code, but if the surgeon entered the joint, there may be an arthrotomy code that could be appropriate (e.g. 27620 for arthrotomy with removal of a loose body of the ankle).
