I am just wondering if I work in a hospital in the billing department would my experience dealing with reviewing the claims and rebilling after denials, if any of that experience can be counted towards getting the A removed from the CPC certification? Or does it have to be 80 hours of nothing but coding?

It is listed in the the template letter. It doesn't really matter the areas of employment, it matters if in your daily job role you have to use the ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding books. So, for example, if you are working rejections and denials all day long which requires you to navigate and use the coding sets to figure out the claims, I would say that qualifies. Or, if you have to follow up on claims for A/R and or possibly authorization as it relates to billing, etc.

I have been working as a profee/denials coder for 1 year, and I just finished my COC course and passed. Does taking the course with 1 year or working classify as the 80 hours to remove my A?
