Procedure : Foreign body removal plantar surface right foot, 11 blade scalpel was used to core out the apparent foreign body, intact glass was removed.

Which CPT code best describes this scenario?? 28190 removal of foreign body, foot, subcutaneous
or
10120 incision and removal of foreign body, subcutaneous tissues, simple

You would use the foot specific FB removal codes for this in my opinion since they have their own specific set of codes.

Thanks. The CPT assistant is throwing me off, because the way it reads you only use 28190 if the foreign body was deeper than the subcutaneous layer, but I thought like you stated and felt like the foot specific codes were the best
