Help please!!

Is this correct? Or should we be billing something different?

The radiologists perform the kidney bx & I look directly at the tissue core under the microscope to see if there are glomeruli & tell them whether they have an adequate specimen. The bx is then forwarded to the different laboratory for definitive studies. Do you know if 88333 is the proper charge code for my part?

Thanks!
Julie :)

Hi Julie,
No do not use 88333 since the physician is only looking for adequacy of the specimen. Use CPT 88329 for this scenario. Make sure this service is documented in the report.
