Order states 599.0, indication on report states epididymitis. Report impression is normal. Would you use 599.0 or 604.90????

I would check the chart/paperwork for more information or send it back for clarification if the chart isn't available to you. It has been my experience that diagnosis codes dictated without a description are not always correct.
 
Hi,

My suggestion on this is, if the record state "uti" we can go with 599.0 as a primary dx and followed by 604.90, or if they just say 599.0 that is the code has been dictated then we want to get clarified.
