Anyone know how to code a repair/closure of an atrial esophageal fistula? Approach is thoractomy. I can't find this in the cpt book and don't know where to look-the 3xxxx or 4xxxx section? Nothing seems to make sense with this procedure. Please help!! Thank you!!
 
Take a look at 43420-43425. I code for dialysis fistulas in the 3XXXX and I don't see anything that would meet your descrption but without the actual report, I can't be 100% certain. It's a start for you.
