can I report a diagnosis of 'consistent with basal cell carcinoma'? in the outpatient setting? :confused:
 
No, you can only code for confirmed diagnosis(es) or signs and symptoms. Consistent with, suspected, probable, questionable, or anything else along those lines does not indicate certainty and can not be used as a dx code.
