I have a few physicians that are stating patient has Hypoxic Respiratory Failure to continue use of Bi-pap. I was under the impression that a bi-pap/Cpap is air therapy not 02. Can we bill for hypoxic respiratory failure with that?

CPAP is employed in patients with acute respiratory failure to correct hypoxaemia. It permits a higher inspired oxygen content than other methods of oxygen supplementation, increases mean airway pressure, and will improve ventilation to collapsed areas of the lung.

Your providers will need to provide specificity if condition is chronic or acute to be covered. Unspecified respiratory failure with hypoxia is not covered.
