CMS article A58575 Billing & Coding: Respiratory Pathogen Panel Testing states that there are 7 codes that are not covered. We bill 3 of those codes, 87632/87633/0202U, because we are coding to the highest specificity for the lab test that is ordered and resulted. Does anyone else bill the codes that are under the non-covered section of this article? Additional codes include 0115U/0223U/0225U/0373U. Wondering if anyone who does use those codes has a patient sign an ABN? Side note UHC also has a policy 2022R5020B, in which they do not cover 0115U/0202U/0223U/0225U/87632/87633. Any help or suggestions on how to avoid the denial or loss of revenue for these lab tests we do provide is greatly appreciated.
