Hi everyone,

I posted a question on here a week ago and had no responses..

I REALLY need help with revenue coding. Can you bill a Medicaid provider for IOP using a rev code of 905 or 906 without an associated HCPCS or CPT code?

Generally no. Most Medicaids want the HCPCS. Those will vary by state. H0015 is generally the best for Substance abuse IOP, I dont usually do regular BH so the only code I could find is H0004 which is a general per 15 min code for treatment. Most states will have a provider manual that might be able to better answer your question.

You may also want to check your provider contract with the facility as well. They should have the rev codes and HCPCS within the agreement.

Revenue coding/...help!!!

We do not bill Medicaid but the Revenue Codes and HCPCS Codes we use for IOP are 0905/S9480 for BH and 0906/H0015 for SA. I hope that helps you! Let me know if you have any other questions.
