Hello, I'm looking for the CPT for the following operation:
Excision of right ear canal lesion with operating microscope. A beaver blade was used to excise around the base of lesion down to the canal wall. Specimen sent to pathology.
Would the CPT be 69140, 69145, 69540, 69100 or 69150?
(Lesion/polyp described as exophytic growth.)
thank you very much

1 ml deep to canal wall. 7-8 mm of exophytic growth.
Since the ear is cartilage, and it is soft tissue, I went with 69145 for "Excision of soft tissue lesion, external auditory canal"
I think it's deeper than a skin excision, so 116.. or 114.. may not be ok.
thank you

What is the indication from pathology?
