The surgeon performed a right total hip revision, both components and debridement of pseudotumor.

Is there a CPT for the debridement of the pseudotumor?....I cannot find a good fit.

Operative report reads:

There was brown to very dark brown fluid obtained as soon as we opened up the peudocapsule. This is consistent with metalosis. There was diffuse metalosis chalky debris brown to black in color throughout the hip joint. There was extensive pseudotumor which headed behind the posterior wall of the acetabulum. All the metalosis debris was removed with a combination of rongeurs and curettes.

Can I code the debridement in addition to revision? What CPT code do I use?

Thanks,
