Has anyone billed for a robotic lap chole utilizing Firefly? Would 47563 be appropriate based on this technology? Thank you for your input.

Our providers have been utilizing the firefly for quite some time now. We bill as 47562, as our compliance officer stated to us that in order to bill 47563 there must be documentation showing contrast flow to the duodenum in order to support the cholangiogram. I have yet to see any documentation to support this, but I do know that we've had denials for 47563 when there is no mention of the contrast flow into the duodenum.
