when performing a robotic sugery what modifier should be used?

Robotic surgery is a computer assisted surgery, you would not need a modifier unless it is separate and distinct from a primary procedure or unless it is part of a multiple procedure and so forth.

When billing for the surgeon and they are using the robotic such as a Da vinci would we use any type of modifer such as a 22 or should we use S2900 with a 26 showing the professional component.

When billing for the surgeon and they are using the robotic such as a Da vinci would we use any type of modifer such as a 22 or should we use S2900 with a 26 showing the professional component.

You would not use either one. There is no additional reimbursement for the surgeon just because they used the Da Vinci robot.
