Would you give credit for ROS if documented as such?:

ROS: positive findings listed in HPI

I count the positive findings that are in the HPI and give credit for those systems. However, I would suggest checking with you medicare carrier as some would consider that double dipping. Our carrier - Highmark Medicare Services (now Novatis Solutions) does not consider that double dipping and allows us to use the information from the HPI again for the ROS.

Thanks for your feedback. I looked at the E&M documentation guidelines from Noridian and it isn't clear to me. It does state that posititve ROS and pertinent neg. must be documented but not specifically how. Leaving a lot of room for question. Thanks Again!
