Can "rule out" diagnosis(es) codes be put on claims?

Short answer is no.
Long answer is no, you should code for the signs and symptoms that the patient presents with. So if "rule out appendicitis" is what the physician indicated, you would code for abdominal pain, or what have you.

Also FYI, there are no diagnosis codes for Rule out. So to echo the previous response, No you cannot code rule out.
