We are new to ASC billing / coding. Can anyone offer resources on coding rules for ASC and billing rules for ASC.

we would like to know "how" things get billed at ASC's ? Do you actually bill a cpt code?

any info...like a good resource book....website would be greatly helpful

I don't know what state you're in, but you can start with
http://www.ascassociation.org/
They have a lot of wonderful free information and you can also find your state ASC association and contact them regarding upcoming meetings and training opportunities.
I would also sign up for Becker's ASC newsletter. Also free and sent via email. It's a terrific resource as well.
Be careful not to use Medicare/CMS guidelines when you're coding for your commercial and work comp payers. They are often VERY different and using Medicare guidelines will lose your ASC quite a bit of money.
