What is the expected salary range for a coder doing short-term contract work without benefits? "Salary" is probably not the right term. If paid hourly, what is the expected hourly rate? If paid per diem, what is the rate?

Hi,

Hourly rates vary from $22 to $35 depending on your experience. As far as per chart rate is concerned, it depends on what speciality you code. Surgery coder or an inpatient coder would be charging more than an E&M coder.
