I work in an Orthpedic group and if one of our physicians refer to one of our other physicians for a consult, how should that be coded, as a consult code or an established code?

If it otherwise meets the requirements for a consult and the physician that they are referring to is credentialed as a different sub specialty (example-hand surgeon) then yes, you could bill a consult.
