I&D of an abscess done in an Urgent Care facility. The next day the pt. returns to the Urgent Care facility for a recheck. While there the provider performs an I&D on the same site (guess it wasn't gotten the first time). Is this codeable/billable or does the 10 day global cover it? I've been told it can be coded & billed again. Reason: global periods do not apply to an outpt hospital visit such as an Urgent Care or Emergency Dept visit.
