Good morning!
With the start of the school year, I am starting to see a few of the school physical visits in our urgent care clinic. I am wonder how everyone codes them. If it is stated as "school physical" in the assessment and there is no additional diagnosis, I use the E/M code and Z02.0. Of course, when it's submitted, it gets denied by the patients insurance. My clinic does not have a set self pay fee for a "school physical". We have one for a "sports physical" and "DOT physical". I just want to make sure I am coding correctly so I have something to tell admin when they ask me why it's getting denied.
Does anyone else have a similar problem?
