If a patient is seen in hospital for acute diverticulitis and 8 weeks later the provider wants to do a colonoscopy, is this diagnostic? I think it is, the h&P doesnt mention screening just follow up colonoscopy but the providers are putting both screening and diverticulitis as the dx on the colonoscopy report.
 
You need to query the provider to find out if it's performed due to the patient having diverticulitis or if it's a screening and the diverticulitis is incidental
