Can a NP/PA scribe for another NP/PA?

I suppose they could. It probably wouldn't be the best use of the NP/PA's time, but I can't think of any reason why they couldn't serve in a scribe function.

Ah, gotcha.

Currently, scribes can be trained on the job and employers set their own qualifications for the positions. (Certifications have been developed, but the field is evolving & at the present time there's no mandatory certification requirement.)

If a high school graduate with some anatomy and physiology courses could serve as a scribe, I don't see why an NP/PA couldn't.


Edit to add: Of course, this is assuming that they will be acting truly as a scribe and just documenting what happens in the visit. As opposed to co-mingling scribing & acting as an additional clinician in the room.
