If the screening is negative, is anyone adding the G0136? This is a charged item and I am wondering if this is necessary with the screening being negative. Thank you in advance.

Hi there, if a patient indicates that they are a candidate for the assessment, consent to the assessment, the providers performs the assessment as described by the code and documents any results/conclusions, you can report it, whether or not the assessment identifies an SDOH.

Here's the full descriptor G0136 Administration of a standardized, evidence-based social determinants of health risk assessment tool, 5-15 minutes.

It is better to think of it as an assessment because the eligibility requirements aren't for a specific population. It's any patient who indicates they might have an SDOH.
