Hello,

Is anyone getting denials from the Insurance companies for second castings?

I have and I am wondering if I need to add a V Code or a modifier?

I have been putting the application code and a code for the supplies

Every thing that I am reading (CMS) indicates I should be able to code for this and be reimbursed for it.

Any clarification would be very much appreciated.

For ICD-9 the DX code for a second cast is the V code for healing fx. If you code it with a fx code that may be the reason for the denial.

You may need a 58 modifier on the application code.
