we have a group of DRs that are leased to the hosptial. The hospital pays the "group" who then pays the physicians. The hospital employees NPs who go in and see the patient and complete a progress note in the EMR. The Dr will then go in and see the patient and use the NP's note as his own. I have found documentation that states if they are not from the same group or practice they can not share visits, which to means the DR needs to do his own progress note. The NP's visits are not being billed on the hoptial side.

What is correct? Can they use the NP's notes becuase they are leased to the hospital, they are not using a NPI from the hopsital, the clinic is billing there e/m visits....

Thanks Debra,
can you tell me if they have the same tax ID, and even though the DRs have there own NPI, they are billed under the hospital NPI
