Hello,

An MHNP performs a 90792 where the patient does endorse symptoms of GAD and MDD per the DSM 5 criteria, but becomes increasingly angry and uncooperative when she is asked to discuss treatment options (other than the medication she wants). She walks out without discussing those options. All of the rest of the criteria per CMS requirements are met for a 90792. Should the 90792 be billed? Thanks for your input!

Hi
I say bill the patient. Also the provider may want to add dx Z53.29 and R45.4 Irritation. Apparently the reasons came the person is stressed mentally so better to document and bill than not.
