I work at an Orthopaedic office and we are having difficulties getting
payment on the SI joint injections (xylocaine and cortisone) . We have used 20610 and 27096, both of which are being denied. Any suggestions?
 
27096 is ONLY to be used if done by imaging guidance which you would then need the correct codes ie S&I code or guidance code depending on if arthroghraphy was also done

20610 is used when there is no guidance.

what denial reason code are they giving you?
