Under the 1995 examination guidelines my physician dictates:

Neck: Supple w/out lymphadenopathy.

Can I use this statement as either examining a body area "neck" or examining an organ system "lymphatic"?

I understand under the 97' guidelines you would need to examine 2+ areas under lymph.

Thank you,

You sure can!

The neck is recognized by both sets of guidelines as a body area. Per the 1995 guidelines, your physician's statement would qualify as 1 body area/system. Best wishes!

I'm leaning towards Neck and organ system (Hematologic/lymphatic/immunologic)

If the physician had just documented: Neck: supple...I would only credit neck

If the physician had just documented: Neck: w/o lymphadenopathy...I would only credit Hematologic/lymphatic/immunologic.

BUT...Since he documented "Neck: Supple w/out lymphadenopathy", I vote for both.

IMHO...
