Who is to be billed if a patient falls and sustains an injury in the clinic or hospital. Their insurance billed for the incident? any input appreciated. thanks.

inpatient? outpatient? visitor to the hospital/clinic? I know when my mom fell as a visitor, it was handled by the facilities liability insurance.
Generally, an injury to patient on site (whether inpatient or outpatient) is submitted to the insurance carrier for the facility. Documentation for the injury (fall, trip, slip, etc) is gathered and a case is opened with the facilities or office carrier. You would need to ensure moving forward that the patient case is separated between care for the injury (billed to facility carrier) and their original illness which would still be billed to their private insurance.
