DOC WANTS TO USE SIZE AS SEVERITY..

EX: 1.6x 1.4 NODULE OR MASS

Not sitting right w me what do u think

Thank you

I can see where he is coming from. If you said "rash on 20% of body" vs "rash on 75% of body"...wouldn''t that show severity of the rash. I could probably go with the size of a lesion or nodule as severity.

I would not apply it to quality as I think that as more of a descriptor or adjective such as "red mass" or "scaly nodule"

What I got from the AAPC Website is this:

Severity: The patients statements regarding a degree or measurement of how bad it is. For example, improved, extreme pain, blood sugar was 200, he was feeling "better", or she feels that it is intolerable", etc

Quality: The patients statements regarding characteristics about the problem. How it looks or feels For example, green phlegm, popping knee, metallic taste, throbbing pain or a whistling sound, etc.

That's why I thought Quality would be more appropriate.

Help me understand the differences, please!!
