Can anybody tell me where I can find info on a change in Medicare for coding skilled nursing facility physician visits? My physician has done visits to the SNF for years, but suddenly Medicare is saying the the codes we use are "subject to SNF consolidated billing". But in everything that I have read on the Medicare website, it says physician visits are exempt from consolidated billing. And the 99308, 99309 are the correct codes to use.
Should I be using skilled nursing facility as the POS and TOS? Up to now we have used nursing home and physician visit nursing home. :confused:
