I am having a difficult time finding the documentation guidelines for our Slide Preparation Facility. We mount tissue from biopsies that are done in our ASC and then send them out to a pathologist for review. We are billing the TC portion only. The question has recently been raised about what type of documentation is our facility required to have. The only thing I have been able to find is Medicare's definition of the Slide Prep Facility. Does anyone have any thoughts??? Management is looking for an answer by end of today.
