Hello all!
For 2014, I am looking into billing smoking cessation services at the CMHC where I am employed. Now my questions are a few.
1. Can I use the CPT codes 99406/99407 with our prescriber OV E/M codes, such as 99214, even if the only diagnoses listed are behavioral health issues?
2. Referencing #1 above, if the above answer is no, can I bill for the cessation services if smoking presents a contraindication for any medicines prescribed?
3. Can I bill 99406/99407 with psych evals such as 90791 and 90792?
4. If the CPT codes cannot be billed under any of the above 3 scenarios, can I bill their HCPCS equivalents of G0436 and G0437, especially since those codes specifically mention being for an asymptomatic patient, for any of the above three scenarios?
I thank you for any info and apologize if this has been previously asked.
