If a visiting specialist sees a pt in our SNF, can I code this for reimbursement? Our clinic (Rural Health) is hospital based and we are a CAH. We have several visiting specialists' and one is Orthro. He saw a Medicare pt in our swing bed unit. I don't think I can bill this to Medicare because it's our swing bed right? Do I bill it to the hospital for clinic reimbursement? All three coders and three biller have different opinions....
Any help would be appreciated.
