Hello.

The doctor replaced the patient's speaking valve in the office (tracheoesophageal). Is this charged as an E&M or is there a procedure code? I saw code 92597, but I wasn't sure if this was for the initial placement of the valve or could be used for subsequent replacements.

I did find HCPCS code L8501 for the valve itself.

Any suggestions are appreciated.
