Hi All,
There is a confusion in my team on specificity diagnosis coding. If there is document for both other specified and specified, which diagnosis should be coded? Eg: Patient have Prediabetes (R73.03) and Abnormal glucose (R73.09). Which one should be coded?

Thanks in advance for your guidance

ICD-10 coding principles always indicate to code to the highest specificity. R73.03 (prediabetes) by definition would include "abnormal glucose", otherwise how would the condition be diagnosed? Other and/or unspecified codes, from the same code group (R73) would only be used when the other specified diagnoses in the code group do not accurately reflect the patient's condition or physician findings.
