Hello!

I know that speech (92507) therapy is a non-timed code, while OT (97530) is timed at 15 minutes. If you are billing a 30 minute co treatment session for this scenario - there is no case where you'd be allowed to bill the full 2 units of 97530 AND 92507, correct? I understand that speech is untimed, but, if we are billing a full 30 minutes of OT, and the therapy session is only 30 minutes in TOTAL (for the full co-treat session) how could we possibly bill more than 1 unit of 97530 + 92507. Right?

I am getting pushback from the clinical team stating that since speech is untimed it doesnt follow the 8 minute rule, which I understand, but, OT does!

Help! :)

Two different providers cannot be performing two different services like this at the same time, so they need to figure out what portion of the 30 minutes belongs to each one. Otherwise, they're double-dipping.
