Can someone please advise if the doc states "the bile duct was deeply cannulated with the short-nosed traction shpincterotome" Does this mean that a sphincterotomy (43232) was done OR does the report have to state that a Sphincterotomy was performed? thanks
 
you must mean 43262 not 43232....ask the provider for clarification. Most things done during an ERCP can't be done without cannulation so 43273 is a good choice, and it's an add on code.
