My doc did a spinal arthrodesis at the L5-S1 level. I am using the new code 22586 which covers the fusion, disc space prep as well as the instrumentation. However, when I was reading the applicable codes under the 22851 implant code, the new code wasn't listed.
I set an email to AMA regarding this omission. In the meantime, has anybody used this combo yet (22586, 22851)? Did it pay? Medicare? BlueCross?
