| Intermittent CT guidance was utilized to anesthetize the soft tissues using 1% lidocaine. Following this, a 20-gauge needle was advanced into the intrathecal space. A total of 5 mL of CSF was aspirated and submitted for evaluation. 12 mg/5 mL of Spinraza was subsequently injected slowly over 2 to 3 minutes without difficulty. Needle was removed and hemostasis was achieved. The site was covered with sterile dressings. The patient tolerated the procedure well, without any immediate complication. FINDINGS: CT demonstrates prior spinal fusion with extensive heterotopic ossification. The final images demonstrate the tip of the needle within the intrathecal space. |
