If patient comes into the ED and the only facture treatment received was a spinlt application, you can't still code an E&M can you? I was readin some older posts and someone had said that you could since the doc examined the area that was injured. I thought that you cuold only charge for the splint???
 
I thought you could ALWAYS bill an E/M when the physician evaluates the patient in the ER. What am I missing?
